REMARKS
THE ARCTIC
Remember we are in the Arctic and here the weather rules. Only short term plans are realistic. We make our decisions on what is possible and when to do it based on weather forecast and conditions. A bit flexible mindset is a good thing to have here in northern Norway.
INTAKE
After you have booked we do an intake (video-call) where we discuss the things you want to learn and focus on. This helps us to streamline the train to your personal ambitions. Of course you can also discuss things with us before booking. Just contact us and we schedule a call.

THE TOPICS OF THIS COURSE
Here are the topics that we are focusing on during this course. The objectives of this course is that you get essential skills and knowledge to go winter camping on a safe and comfortable way with friends or family. In between practicing and theoretical lessons we do some short hikes in the wild nature of northern Norway.
ADD-ONS AFTER THE COURSE
You can extend your stay with us and do this training and enjoy other Norwegian landscapes and scenery. Contact our staff if you do not know which trip suits your best!
FAQ about this training
AM I AN EXPERT AFTER THIS COURSE?
No, it is a beginner level course. At the end of the course you know the basics and you will essential knowledge. After this you have to get more experience just by doing. One way to do that is join one of the add-ons, but you can also practice yourself solo or with family or friends.
IS THIS A SURVIVAL TRAINING OR COURSE?
No it is not a survival course, but it contains some elements of it (for example how to be safe and warm in Arctic conditions, building emergency shelters and more ´). The course focuses on skills and knowledge related to camping in the wild for people on a beginner level (no experience or a bit experience in winter camping). It gives you a good basis to join a survival training afterwards.
CAN I BRING MY TENT OR OTHER OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT?
Yes, you can bring whatever you want to test it out in Arctic Norway. No problem to bring tents, stoves, drones, etc.
WHY SHOULD I DO AN ADD-ON TRIP?
Practicing and getting experience by being longer in wild nature helps you to develop skills and to get more comfortable. Add-on trips are also nice for exploring more parts of Norway.
CAN I SEE THE NORTHERN LIGHTS?
Yes if we are lucky. The northern lights season is from September until the mid of April. We need a cloudless sky and check frequently to see the auroras.
WHAT IS THE BEST MONTH?
Hard to say. January, February and March have more snow than December and April in general, but with the climate change it is harder to predict. April has the longest days and you can feel a bit the spring coming and the conditions can be more gentle. But as said the actual weather in a period is hard to predict. Contact our team if you want to know more about which month to choose!
